  The nationwide development of the “Digital Topographic Map 200000” and the “Digital Map (Basic Geospatial Information 200000),” small-scale map data provided in stages by the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan, was completed on December 25, 2015.

Details

 The “Digital Topographic Map 200000” and the “Digital Map (Basic Geospatial Information 200000)” have been provided since October 17, 2014 and the range of its provision was expanded in stages. As of this provision on December 25, its nationwide development (130 sheets) was completed. 
 
 This data has wide usage as base maps for GIS (Geographic Information System) and websites, as well as references for private mapping companies etc. when they make their road maps and other maps.
 In the future, they will be quickly updated and provided in accordance with large-scale changes to highways/other major roads, new railroad openings etc. in all regions nationwide.
 

”Digital Topographic Map 200000”

  • Image data of maps that represents roughly the same content as conventional 1:200,000 scale regional maps (printed maps)
  • Visibility was improved by coloring the highways green and national routes red
  • Two types of map expressions (see attachments 1, 2) that depict or do not depict shades/buildings

“Digital Map (Basic Geospatial Information 200000)”

  • Vector data (coordinate value data) that is the basis of the map image data of the “Digital Topographic Map 200000”
  • Created by the vector data that is the basis of the “Digital Topographic Map 25000” and the 1:25,000 scale topographic maps (printed maps).
     

 The ”Digital Topographic Map 200000” and the “Digital Map (Basic Geospatial Information 200000)” are both provided online on the Internet for the price of 175 yen a file (including tax).
